Everton midfielder signs a new one-year extension to tie him to the club until 2015.
The 32-year-old's existing deal was set to expire next summer and he insists the uncertainty over who will be in charge at Goodison did not affect his decision.
"We are not quite sure what's going to happen with a manager but I am still delighted to have secured my future here at the Club," he told the club website.
