German ace Thomas Muller has revealed he’s turned down several offers in recent years, including one from Chelsea.
The Bayern Munich striker claims he considered his future after the 2010 World Cup due to concerns over his first team opportunities. During this period he received a host of offers, including one from Chelsea, which he feels to be an honour.
A move failed to materialise after Muller decided a move at such a young age was not sensible and the 25-year-old has since gone on to become a first team regular at Bayern.
“After the World Cup I refused several offers, including one from Chelsea,” he told Sport-Bild. “It was an honour because this does not happen every day.“But I did not think it made sense to make the move at such a young age. A change would have been nonsense after my first year as a pro. At my age you have to play.”“I simply feel comfortable here,” he added. “You can almost say that I’m ‘living’ FC Bayern.”
