Alberto Aquilani's future will be determined in the next few days, according to the Liverpool midfielder's agent.Aquilani, who is under contract with Liverpool until June 2014, spent last season on loan at AC Milan having struggled to settle at Anfield since joining from Roma for £20 million in 2009.
"We had a meeting with English executives but for the time being, nothing has emerged," Aquilani's agent, Franco Zavaglia, told ilsussidiario.net. "We expect a response from Liverpool which should arrive within the week."
Reports in Italy claimed this week Aquilani, 27, could terminate his contract with Liverpool before joining Milan permanently - suggestions which Zavaglia has vehemently denied.
"There is absolutely no possibility that Aquilani can become a free agent in order to then decide what to do," Zavaglia said. "I don't know if he wants to stay at Milan, we shall see. We just have to wait and see what happens and what Liverpool decides."
