Beckham, Giggs in Team GB

David Beckham will link up with former Manchester United team-mate Ryan Giggs in Great Britain's Olympic football team.

Manager Stuart Pearce will submit a 35-man provisional squad for this summer's London Games later today.

But Beckham, Giggs and Craig Bellamy are all expected to survive the final cut and be the three permitted overage players when the final 18-man squad is named on 6 July.

Beckham, now with LA Galaxy, has not played his club football in England for almost a decade but as an Olympic ambassador has been heavily involved since London's successful bid to stage the event back in 2005.

Team GB play a friendly against Brazil at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium on 20 July before taking on Senegal, UAE and Uruguay in Group A at the Games.
