Barcelona’s new left back Jordi Alba, who learned to play football in the Club’s youth system, donned the Barca strip for the first time since he left the club.
Alba came out of tunnel that gives access to the Camp Nou pitch as the Barca anthem rang throughout the stadium grounds. The fans, who had been waiting to catch a glimpse of the player, gave Alba a standing ovation as he came out of the tunnel.
Alba couldn’t help but smile throughout his presentation. The L’Hospitalet native greeted the fans after he posed with the Barca strip in front of dozens of photographers and television cameras.
The Azulgrana left back then grabbed the mic and thanked the fans for making him feel so welcome: “this is such a special day for me, thank you all for being here. I’m so pleased because I’m coming home.”
The player left the pitch while kissing the Barca crest on his jersey.
