French sources have reported the two clubs have finally come to agreement over the midfielder after lengthy talks and say he is due in England on Friday for a medical.
Doumbia revealed earlier this month that he was in talks about a move to the Premier League, and now he has stated that the club in question are West Brom.
"I have no regrets about leaving Rennes, I go quietly and with a smile on my face, I have no grudges against the club," he told 20Minutes in France.
Asked about West Brom he said: "I felt a lot of desire from them, obviously it is less glamorous than Arsenal, but I will be able to continue my progress.
"The Premier League thrills me and I hope this is the beginning of a new adventure."
