Liverpool FC could launch January bid for Roberto Soldado - report

Liverpool are reportedly considering making a January move to sign Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has been linked with a number of forwards in recent weeks as he looks to bring in a top forward to provide competition for Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in the New Year.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is currently on loan at Tottenham, is reportedly on Dalglish's radar (see below), but according to Metro, the Scot will launch a bid for 26-year-old Soldado during the winter transfer window.

The former Getafe forward has been watched by the Merseysiders on several occasions in recent months and scouts were reportedly in attendance to watch him impress in last week's 7-0 win over Genk in the Champions League, where he struck a hat-trick.

Valencia are said to value Soldado at around £20million, which could prove to be a possible stumbling block, unless Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli are willing to offer one of their fringe players as part of a cash-plus-player deal for the Spaniard.
