Liverpool FC linked with Matt Phillips as Blackpool FC admit he could leave

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Matt Phillips - and Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has admitted the winger will eventually leave the club.

Phillips has been in superb form for Blackpool this season, and according to talkSPORT, Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is interested in luring him to Anfield this summer.

And Holloway admits the 20-year-old is likely to become a target for some of the Premier League's top clubs.

"Matt Phillips has been absolutely exceptional, he understands what we are trying to do," Holloway told talkSPORT.

"He saw that Charlie went to one of the biggest clubs in the country and I am sure it will only be a matter of time until Matt joins him because he is 20 and he is English."

An England Under-20 international, Phillips signed for Blackpool in August 2010 in a deal worth up to £700,000.

Former club Wycombe negotiated a sell-on clause as part of his move to the Seasiders.
