Spurs, who have already spent in excess of £50m this window on four players appear to have already gazumped Liverpool for £30m rated Willian after the highly-rated playmaker was spotted arriving in London earlier today.
And it also seems that they are poised to sign Roma's Erik Lamela following talks with the club's sporting director Walter Sbatini.
According to Sky Italia, they claim a deal has been agreed with chairman Daniel Levy which will now pave the way for contractual negotiations.
The La Liga giants have been hot on Bale's tail throughout the window, and have already had an £85m bid for him rejected.
Other reports have also continually linked Fabio Coentrao with a move away from the Bernebeu and could be included in a potential package for Bale.
The mercurial Welshman didn't feature in Spurs' 1-0 opening day Premier League win against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
