Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has been ruled out for a fortnight after suffering a thigh injury in the Copa del Rey demolition of Hospitalet.
Iniesta, 27, sustained the muscle tear when colliding with Hospitalet goalkeeper Carlos Craviotto inside the opening half-an-hour of Barcelona's 9-0 win on Thursday night.The Spain international will consequently miss the away leg of Barcelona's last-16 tie in the cup and also the Primera Liga game against Espanyol on 7th or 8th January.
And the Spanish and European champions confirmed the setback in a statement, which read: "Iniesta will out of action for 15 days after sustaining a muscle injury."
Barcelona have already been hit by David Villa's broken leg, which has required surgery and has ruled Spain's all-time top goals
