Abidal invited to attend group

France defender Eric Abidal is to attend the team's final Euro 2012 group match on Tuesday against Sweden if doctors permit him to travel two months after a liver transplant.



French football supremo Noel Le Great said on Wednesday that he has invited Abidal to come to Kiev on game day and to stay the night with the team in their hotel.



Abidal, 32, had a tumour removed from his liver last year and returned to playing action at his Spanish club Barcelona and for France. The April transplant of the organ donated by a cousin has sidelined him again but doctors believe that he may play again.



Abidal has 61 France caps highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 2006 World Cup. He last played for Les Bleus in February in a 2-1 friendly win in Germany.
