Robin van Persie on his holidays

Blue is the colour for wantaway Arsenal captain Robin van Persie on his holidays, but will it also be the shade of his club strip next season?

Van Persie, who has just one year to run on his deal, is being chased by Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City after the Dutchman revealed it's his intention to quit the Emirates.

Juventus and Manchester United are also in the race to sign the 28-year-old, who was snapped enjoying time on holiday with his family.

Unlike many of his Premier League peers, the Holland international, who endured a disappointing European Championships, has snubbed the party island of Ibiza.

But Van Persie isn't too far away from the action, holidaying at Formentera – a small island better known as Ibiza's 'little neighbour'.

Whether he'll be playing for United's 'noisy neighbours' next term remains up in the air, with manager Arsene Wenger keen to resolve Van Persie's future as soon as possible.

As exclusively revealed by Sportsmail today, Wenger has told Arsenal officials he wants a quick resolution to the transfer saga - even if it means he has to sell his talismanic striker.

The Arsenal manager is keen to hold face-to-face talks with Van Persie in the next few days to try to persuade him to sign a new contract.

But if he fails to do so, Wenger wants to sanction a quick sale of the forward.

The Frenchman would rather have the funds - and time - to reinvest than a repeat of last year, when the sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri near the end of the transfer window disrupted preparations for the new season.

They want more than £30m for the Holland star but Van Persie's age and the fact he has only a year left on his contract mean they are likely to receive nearer £20m.
