Spurs boost title push with swoop for Saha after letting Pavlyuchenko go Louis-Saha-signs-Tottenham-Everton

Louis Saha has sealed a surprise move to Tottenham from Everton.

The former France international agreed a deal until the end of the season with the option of another year at White Hart Lane.

Spurs made their move as they offloaded Roman Pavlyuchenko to Locomotiv Moscow for around £11million.

Saha has made 19 appearances for Everton this season but has only scored two goals and the last of those came against Chelsea in the Carling Cup on October 26. He only had six months remaining on his contract at Goodison Park.
Whether Saha’s imminent departure gives Everton scope to do something else in the window remains to be seen – David Moyes has been tracking a loan deal for, among others, Paris St Germain’s Guillaume Hoarau.

Since arriving at Goodison Park on a free transfer in August 2008, Saha has endured a number of fitness issues but he created a little bit of history for Everton in that he scored the quickest ever goal in an FA Cup final against Chelsea in May 2009.

Spurs were desperate to offload Pavlyuchenko, who was involved in a furious training ground bust-up with Harry Redknapp's No 2 Kevin Bond.

The Russian scored 42 times in 114 appearances since joining from Sporting Moscow for £13.8m in 2008.
