Arsenal FC and Real Madrid CF join race to sign Torres - report

Arsenal and Real Madrid have reportedly joined Valencia in the race to sign Alcoyano youngster Lucas Torres.

The 17-year-old is starting to make a name for himself in Spain's Segunda Division and is highly rated by officials at the Estadio El Collao.

Alcoyano have a partnership agreement with Valencia which gives the Primera Liga outfit first refusal on the club's young players, but according to InsideFutbol, Spanish giants Real Madrid are showing interest, along with Arsenal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger already has ties with Alcoyano as their young Brazilian forward Wellington Silva is currently on loan at the club.

Alcoyano president Juan Serrano Morillas has confirmed the interest in the teenager, saying: "The interest in the player has not gone beyond asking about his situation, even if that interest is increasing.

"Valencia have priority with the player, as this is the club that has an agreement with Alcoyano."
