Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed that he intends to go back to boyhood club Independiente, but not until he is 29.
Aguero played for Independiente in his native Argentina at the start of his career, before making the move to European football with Atletico Madrid in 2006.
He was then recruited by City this summer and, at the age of 23, is a key part of the Premier League club's vision for the future.
"I play in Europe but I've always said that I'd go back when I'm 29," he told Ecos del Rojo.Aguero still follows the fortunes of Independiente, though, and has not forgotten a promise he made to return in 2017.
"I always wish Independiente the best of luck.
"It is hard to watch their matches on television but I try each week because it is my passion."
