Liverpool are reportedly ready to launch a January bid for Universidad de Chile forward Eduardo Vargas.

Vargas' agent revealed last week that both the Merseysiders and Arsenal were keen on the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Italian giants AC Milan and rivals Inter.
But according to The People, Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish sent a scout to watch the Chile international in action last weekend and could make a move when the transfer window reopens next month.
Vargas, who is valued at around £15million, is said to be interested in a move to England or Italy.
His agent, Diego Cativa, had last week admitted: "We are talking with AC Milan and Inter Milan, who have made proposals, as well as with Liverpool, Arsenal and a number of other clubs."
