Manchester City are reportedly confident of signing Arsenal captain Robin van Persie next year in a £41million deal.

Van Persie has less than two years left on his existing contract at Arsenal and is unwilling to discuss a new deal until next summer.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe in recent weeks, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid all thought to be monitoring developments at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal insist they are still confident that the striker will eventually put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract.
But according to The Sun, big spending City believe they will be able to lure the Netherlands international to the Etihad Stadium and are convinced they will be able to force Arsenal to sell for £30m.
On top of that transfer fee, City will offer Van Persie a four-year deal worth £200,000-a-week - more than double his current wages.
Arsenal know that next summer will see Van Persie have around 12 months left on his existing deal and that could force them to sell in order to avoid losing him for free the following year.
So far, Van Persie has indicated that he will not look to open talks until next May at the earliest.
Recent reports have suggested the player is open-minded and hopeful of still winning silverware in north London. But it is thought that key to Van Persie's decision to stay will be how busy manager Arsene Wenger is in the transfer market next year.
A move to Eastlands would see Van Persie reunited with former team-mates Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy.
