Valencia striker interesting Paris Saint-Germain

A report in France Football claims Valencia forward Roberto Soldado is on Paris Saint-Germain’s agenda for the winter transfer market, although the 26-year-old is not the first option for the French club.

PSG was bought in May this year by the Qatar Investment Authority, but the mega-rich new owners have been disappointed in the team’s showing so far and director of football Leonardo has tracked Soldado’s progress in La Liga this season, where he has been on target 11 times including two in Valencia’s 2-0 defeat of Málaga on Sunday.

The publication, however, insists Los Ché have no intention of selling the former Real Madrid striker, although PSG would be prepared to pay up to €30m for him, a figure Valencia President Manuel Llorente might find hard to resist given the club’s financial woes over the past few years.

While Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez is understood to be top of PSG’s wish list, the Argentine international looks increasingly likely to sign for AC Milan, although negotiations appear to have stalled over a potential transfer fee, at least for the time being.

If the Tevez deal to Italy does fall through then PSG could be the player’s final destination; if not, then the Ligue Un club may well test Valencia’s resolve to hang on to a player they can ill afford to lose if they are to maintain their challenge for a Champions League spot next season.
