England meet Ukraine for the fifth time in their Euro 2012 Group D encounter.
Ahead of the final Euro 2012 Group D encounter, here's ten more facts about England v Ukraine...
1. Ukraine became independent from the old Soviet Union in 1991 and played their first match against Hungary on 29 April in the following year.
2. The first England v Ukraine match was a Wembley friendly in 2000, England winning 2-0. Tony Adams’ goal was the last by an England player at the old stadium.
3. Steven Gerrard made his England debut in that first match. He had celebrated his 20th birthday the day before and wore the no.2 shirt. Gareth Barry also won his first cap as a substitute for Phil Neville.
4. Ukraine reached the World Cup quarter finals in 2006 but they are in the European Championship Finals for the first time (as co-hosts).
5. Shevchenko’s 48 goals for Ukraine leaves him one short of Bobby Charlton’s record haul for England.
6. Ukraine head coach Oleh Blokhin, now 59, scored 42 goals in 112 appearances for the Soviet Union and was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1975.
7. Blokhin is in his second spell as head coach, fulfilling the role from 2003 to 2007 and coming back in April last year.
8. England and Ukraine have met four times, England winning three and losing one. Ukraine won the last fixture, a World Cup Qualifier in 2009, 1-0 in the Dnipro Arena. Robert Green became the first England goalkeeper to be red-carded.
9. Ukraine are in England’s Qualifying Group for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. They will play at Wembley on 11 September this year.
10. A draw tonight would be enough to take England through to the Euro 2012 quarter finals. But England have never drawn their last Group match in any previous Euro Finals.
