Bastian Schweinsteiger says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich did not make him an offer when the duo met last week.
Abramovich was a surprise visitor to Germany's base at the European Championships and spoke to Schweinsteiger, who missed the crucial penalty for Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final last month as Chelsea went on to lift the trophy.
Speculation has been rife that Abramovich was there to sound the midfielder out over a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer, something which has been dismissed by the player.
The Bundesliga giants would be unwilling to sell the 27-year-old and the player is also happy where he is.
"I was surprised to see him and wondered why he was here," Schweinsteiger said.
"I've congratulated him and we had a brief chat. No, he didn't make me an offer."
Germany coach Joachim Low also played down the meeting.
"Roman Abramovich paid us a visit and had a talk with Bastian," he added.
"They were having a laugh with each other, and Bastian congratulated him with the Champions League win. I don't think there's anything behind the meeting."
