Young boost for England

England manager Roy Hodgson looks set to have a full-strength squad to select from for the Euro 2012 quarter-final against Italy.

Ashley Young was England's main concern after the Manchester United forward took a blow to his shin during Tuesday's victory over Ukraine in Donetsk.

However, any concerns he would miss Sunday's clash in Kiev have been dispelled after he joined the rest of the squad for a behind-closed-doors training session on Thursday.

An FA spokesman said: "All 22 players either trained or did recovery work."

The only absentee was Jermain Defoe, who has returned to England for his father's funeral but is expected to be back in Krakow on Friday evening.

A clearer indication of Young's fitness should be available on Friday when England's training session will be open for 30 minutes.
