Even if the current campaign is far from finished, club sporting director Walter Sabatini is already preparing the squad for the 2013/2014 season.
Given that Pablo Daniel Osvaldo looks set to leave in the summer, the Giallorossi are lining up a move for Cagliari star Marco Sau.
The talented forward was first recommended to club officials by former boss Zdenek Zeman, and Sabatini has seen enough to realize that the 25-year-old has what it takes to succeed at Stadio Olimpico.
Roma are, therefore, ready to offer around €8 million for the highly rated forward, but the problem is Cagliari are holding out for €12 million.
Marco Sau, who had never played top-flight football before this season, has been in scintillating form this term, scoring 11 goals in 22 Serie A games in spite of his club being involved in the relegation tussle.
