The Rossoneri have made no secret of their intentions to sign a world class centre forward this summer, and several weeks ago coach Carlo Ancelotti named both Arsenal’s Adebayor and Chelsea’s Drogba on a four-man striker shortlist. Milan’s attempts to buy either of these two players has proved frustrating, and it had appeared last week that they had given up all hope. However it was reported in the Italian press this morning that the Diavoli had reignited their interest in Adebayor, and now Leonardo admits that they also still hold an interest in Drogba too. “It’s no secret that we’re interested in signing a forward and we are looking at candidates,” the Brazilian told BBC Sport. “Drogba is a fine player and I really like Adebayor. We are just waiting for the right time to make a move." Leonardo also bemoaned the fact that Italian clubs do not hold the financial power that their English and Spanish counterparts do. “We have to accept that the incomes of the top English and Spanish teams are greater than they are in Italy and it’s very hard for us to compete,” he explained. “But we can offer other things. We have a first-class environment for players and a wonderful history.” Leonardo represented Milan as a player from 1997 to 2001 and 2002 to 2003. Roberto Rossi
