Miroslav Klose has revealed that he turned down a move to Tottenham during the off-season to stay with Lazio.
The 34-year-old moved to the Italian capital from Bayern Munich last year, and caught the eye of the north Londoners, who then offered him a move to White Hart Lane.
"Tottenham came looking for me, but I signed for Lazio until 2014 and I intend to respect that contract," he explained to Sportal.it.
Vladimir Petkovic has taken over the reins at Stadio Olimpico from Edy Reja, and Klose has nothing but praise for the Bosnian.
"Petkovic is one of the greats. The Scudetto will be difficult, but I can't yet say how far we will go. Now we must focus on Chievo, then there will be the Europa League fixtures," he said.
The striker is currently playing with a cast on his hand and has also picked up some other minor injuries in recent weeks, but he insisted he will be fit to face Chievo on Sunday.
"It's all fine, I just got a couple of nasty knocks, but I am not worried by the ankle or my hand," he said.
