Maicon appears to be on his way out of Inter Milan with coach Andrea Stramaccioni leaving him out of their Serie A opener against Pescara.
The 31-year-old is continually being linked with a move away from San Siro, with his agent claiming interest from Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea earlier this week.
Maicon did feature in the Europa League win over Vaslui on Thursday, but his exclusion from the squad for Sunday's encounter suggests a move could be on the horizon for the experienced defender.
Nevertheless, if it were down to new signing Antonio Cassano, Maicon would be going nowhere.
"I would be a happy man if Maicon remains at Inter," the former AC Milan forward said at a press conference on Saturday.
The defender joined Inter from Monaco in the summer of 2006 and has since made over 200 appearances for the Giuseppe Meazza outfit.
