Manchester City have signed former Arsenal goalkeeper Richard Wright on a free transfer on a one-year deal.
The 34-year-old was released by Preston North End at the start of the off-season just gone, after only signing for the club in July.
Wright, who has made two international appearances for England, joined Roberto Mancini's side as the Italian looks to bolster his options between the sticks following the release of Stuart Taylor.
The keeper is expected to be third choice at the Etihad Stadium behind starter Joe Hart and back-up stopper Costel Pantilimon.
Wright endured a tough time with the Gunners following a six-million-pound move to the club in 2001 from Ipswich and was shipped out to Everton after just one season.
He has since had further spells with West Ham, Southampton and Sheffield United.
