Park Ji-sung has reiterated his desire to finish his career at Manchester United, despite struggling to hold down a regular place this season.
The South Korea midfielder made just 17 appearances for Sir Alex Ferguson's side during 2011/12, and has not been offered a new contract, despite having just 12 months left on his current deal.
But the 31-year-old, who joined the club from PSV Eindhoven in 2005, wants to stay at Old Trafford.
"I want to retire at United," he said. "But what I want does not always translate to reality.
"I need to rest mentally and physically.
Park finished the season without a medal for the first time since he moved to United, but he is not going to dwell on a disappointing year.
"I want to forget the past and think about what I have to do in the future," he added.
