The 20-year-old England international missed the entirety of the 2011/2012 season due to an ankle injury, and is now undergoing surgery on a flare-up in the patella tendon of his left knee.
Wilshere will travel to Sweden for the procedure and will then return to north London to begin his rehabilitation hopeful of being fit in time for the start of next season.
"On returning to England, Jack will resume his rehabilitation with the Arsenal medical team over the summer."
