Gonzalo Higuain has appeared to rule out an exit from Real Madrid this summer.
The Argentine striker has been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus; the forward is thought to be concerned at having slipped behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos manager Jose Mourinho meanwhile has always been keen on keeping the 24-year-old.
And so Higuain’s words should delight the former Inter coach.
The last match at Madrid touched me a lot. The words of my team-mates, Sergio [Ramos]. This is a moment that will remain with me forever", said the striker.
"The affection my team-mates have shown has touched me. I get along well with everyone and I just won the title with Madrid and I am once again in the national team.
"I want to take it all in. I’ve worked hard to get there and I will keep going. I am prepared to die to continue at Real Madrid."
Higuain scored 22 goals in Real Madrid’s La Liga-winning campaign.
