Dino joins Maccabi Haifa

Dino Ndlovu has passed his medical at top Israeli side Maccabi Haifa and will sign for the club today.

This was confirmed by club spokesman David Bazak, who says they are delighted to have the player on board. Ndlovu has moved to Haifa from Bnei Yehuda, where he excelled last season.

“Dino had his medical yesterday and he passed, so today he will sign the papers. The transfer was agreed over a month ago, we had just allowed him to play for Bnei Yehuda in the Uefa Europa League, which is why he is only signing for us now,” Bazak told supersport.com.

Ndlovu has previously been on the books of PSL sides Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic, but failed to start a single game at the former, and made just four appearances for Celtic in the 2010/11 season.

His move to Bnei Yehuda was low-key ahead of the 2011/12 campaign, but he ended up being one of the stars of the season in Israel, heling his side to European qualification with eight goals in 30 starts.

His last game for Bnei Yehuda was in the League cup on Sunday, when he scored in a 2-2 draw.

Haifa has been a destination for South Africans in the recent past, they currently still have Bafana Bafana left-back Tsepo Masilela on their books, while Ajax Cape Town forward Terror Fanteni also played there.
