Chelsea bound: Samuel Eto'o may reunite with Jose Mourinho who managed him at Inter Milan |
Chelsea are closing in on their swoop for Samuel Eto'o from Anzhi Makhachkala and the deal should be completed within 48 hours.
They have already signed Willian from Anzhi pending a work permit hearing on Wednesday and Eto'o's transfer will be part of the same £32m financial package.
The deal for the Cameroon striker would initially be on a one-year deal.
Eto'o began his career in Europe at Real Madrid, but only featured three times and was sent out on loan during his four years in the Spanish capital.
He made a name for himself in La Liga for Mallorca before signing for Barcelona. He helped them win the Champions League, scoring against Arsenal in the 2006 final.
His next move was to Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan, which may be one reason why he has chosen Chelsea as his next step. The Portuguese manager could have more faith in him than any of his current strikers: Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku or Demba Ba.
