Gareth Bale's £86m exit from Tottenham appears to have moved a step closer as the player missed training on Tuesday.

The Welshman had been pictured enjoying the Spanish sunshine in a villa in Marbella over the weekend, leading many to speculate that he would be unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday afternoon.
Those presumptions were undermined by reports that Bale flew back to the UK on Monday afternoon, and with Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas having confirmed that he expected Bale back at training on Tuesday after allowing him the weekend off it seemed that the Real Madrid deal was on hold.
But the BBC, Sky Sports and The Guardian all reported on Tuesday that Bale had failed to turn up to training, and with rumours flying about a second club entering the bidding - assumed to be from Manchester United - it seems that there is some way to go before the player's future is determined.
Tottenham have not given a reason for Bale's absence from training, but one thing seems certain: Bale will definitely be leaving Spurs. Several of the news reports on Tuesday claimed that Welsh winger is "furious and frustrated" at Tottenham's handling of the transfer saga.
Bale is set to earn £8.5m a year after tax if his move to the Bernabeu goes ahead.
