Suarez to Arsenal FC? Rooney to Chelsea FC? Bale to Real Madrid CF? Top 3 transfer deals yet to happen

Manchester United continue to insist Wayne Rooney will not join Chelsea, while Arsenal are still keen on signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

With teams looking to buy and sell before the summer transfer window closes, Crunchsports.com takes a look at three Premier League players who continue to be linked with big-money moves away from their current clubs...

1. Wayne Rooney to Chelsea
Rooney
Manchester United continue to insist Rooney is not for sale, but Chelsea have already made two bids for the unsettled striker and are expected to return with a third offer.

Rooney is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and although David Moyes insists he will not let the 27-year-old leave Old Trafford, there is still plenty of time for the England international to try and force through a move.

The more time that passes, the more likely it seems Rooney will stay at United. But Chelsea have money to spend and a move shouldn't be ruled out just yet...in fact, we wouldn't be surprised if this one is dragged out until after the Blues take on the Red Devils at Old Trafford on August 26th.

Arsenal are also believed to be interested.

Chances of signing Rooney? Arsenal 2/10, Chelsea 7/10

2. Luis Suarez to Arsenal
Suarez
Speculation about Suarez's future has been ongoing for some time. The unsettled Uruguayan wants to quit Liverpool and join Arsenal, who have had two bids rejected in recent weeks, the most recent being for £40,000,001, which was designed to trigger a clause in the 26-year-old's contract which would allow him to speak to the Gunners.

Liverpool insist the clause does not force them to sell, and continue to maintain that Suarez will remain at the club.

The former Ajax forward insists he wants to join a club playing in the Champions League, and in recent days has been made to train with the reserves.

Despite Brendan Rodgers ruling out a sale, this saga is likely to continue for some time. Will Suarez get his move before the transfer window closes, and will Arsenal's recent bids force Real Madrid to firm up their interest? Perhaps more importantly, can Liverpool afford to drag the saga out and risk being forced into the transfer market close to the transfer deadline. That didn't work out too well when Fernando Torres joined Chelsea, leaving the Reds forking out £35million for Andy Carroll.

Likely rating - Arsenal 7/10, Real Madrid 5/10

3. Gareth Bale to Real Madrid
Bale
Make no mistake about it, Bale is Madrid's No.1 summer target. They may be interested in Suarez, but the Welshman is their priority.

Reports in Spain last week suggested personal terms have already been agreed and that Bale wants a move. Since then, Real president Florentino Perez has played down reports that a move is close to happening, however, citing the fee for the Tottenham winger - reportedly somewhere in the region of £85m - as "a lot of money".

Newspaper reports on Monday morning had suggested Manchester United could make a move for Bale, but whether the finances involved would prevent David Moyes from firming up his interest remains to be seen. For us, Bale will either be at White Hart Lane or the Bernabeu after the transfer window closes on September 2nd.
