Lazio have confirmed their interest in signing CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda.
The Japan international, 25, has been strongly linked with a move to the Serie A club in January and it is believed Lazio are prepared to pay 2 million euros to loan the player until the end of the season, before paying 10m euros to make the deal permanent.
CSKA value Honda at closer to 15m euros and though it is reported that talks have stalled, Lazio official Igli Tare says the club are still pursuing the player.
“Honda has everything that is needed to be a Lazio player,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia when asked about the CSKA Moscow player.
“We know perfectly well what we need to do between now and when the transfer window closes. We are looking to sign an important player and not just any old player.
“We’re certainly in no panic.”
Tare also praised Juventus winger Milos Krasic, who has been linked with a departure from the Bianconeri.
