It may have taken him less than a minute to score on debut for his new club, but all is not rosy for Nicolas Anelka at Shanghai Shenhua.
The former Chelsea striker, who moved to China during the January transfer window, was party to a furious bust up in the Far East during a harmless training match against Nanchang Hengyuan.
Scrap: A pre-season friendly turned ugly with a 13 players becoming involved in a brawl
Calm down: Nicolas Anelka acted as mediator between his team, Shanghai Shenhua, and Nanchang Hengyuan
Anelka was not responsible for the scrap, which involved more than 13 players from the two teams, but was in the thick of the aftermath as he attempted to diffuse the situation.
The match in Shanghai ended with the two teams continuing to be calmed down by those on the outside, including Shenhua manager, the former Fulham boss Jean Tigana.
Fitting in: Team-mates have said Anelka's done a good job integrating
Just last week, Anelka scored within a minute of his first appearance for the club, heading home from home favourite Wu Xi's cross in the 3-1 friendly victory over second division team Hunan Billows.
Bright start: Anelka had taken less than a minute to score on his debut
