The midfielder was released by Barcelona in January after cutting short a loan spell at Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
The 30-year-old's career has been blighted by injury since he left the Gunners for Barca in a £15million move four years ago.
He failed to establish himself at the Nou Camp and spent time on loan at Stuttgart and Birmingham prior to joining Wolfsburg in August.
The Russian Premier League season is set to resume on March 3.
